Going to a park, playing chest, or perhaps drawing with siblings isn’t what makes the younger generation happy or entertained anymore and the key reason goes to the fast development and expansion of social media application. One of the most popular applications is Tik Tok which introduces to the user short and quick videos along with its music/ sound effect. Moreover, several political and social reasons, regarding its safety, went viral and users were concerned that their info may be shared with the world especially that many orders were made to ban the app from certain countries. The application was one of the most expanding applications ever and even the most downloaded app on the apple store. So, the app would have a bigger chance to promote content that isn’t appropriate but according to BBC news official website, in the article “How safe is Tik Tok for young users?”, the writer states “TikTok says it takes safety incredibly seriously and it has also set ‘community guidelines’ and says it doesn’t tolerate bullying, encourages users to report harassment, and promises to ban accounts for “severe or repeated violations”. On the other hand, Tik Tok considered as a platform to share talents and educational content which a lot of people benefit from such as DIY’s, mental health awareness, and educational tips but unfortunately the younger generation aren’t imitating the good side instead, they are more into the lip-syncing and dancing. So, indeed, Tik Tok made a revolution in the domain, yes users do enjoy and like watching videos on it; but not everyone is aware of the drawbacks of such an app especially on children when it comes to being exposed to whole different actions and words.
